Celebrating God

Tasked with assisting the minister, the communion assistant helps distribute the bread and wine, facilitating a sacred connection between God and the congregation. Each member of the congregation is scheduled to serve approximately once a month, ensuring a meaningful involvement in this important liturgical practice. This role not only supports the service but also deepens the communal experience of faith and fellowship.

Eucharistic Ministers

Chancel Guild

The Chancel Guild plays an essential role in our weekly church services, ensuring that everything is prepared for both Communion and Morning Prayer. Each week, our dedicated Chancel Guild team comes together to ensure that every detail is perfectly arranged for our worship services. Responsibilities include pouring wine and water into cruets, counting wafers into bread boxes, and arranging flowers in vases for the Altar. Additionally, meticulously clean the brass, replace candles, and ensure the proper altar covers are in place, creating a beautiful and reverent atmosphere for all.

Sunday Readers

The Sunday Readers wholeheartedly embrace the active participation of lay people in our worship services. Our congregation members take on the rewarding role of reading at either our 8:00 a.m. or 10:30 a.m. Sunday services. With a strong commitment to this ministry, each volunteer contributes to the richness of our worship experience. We are grateful for the many volunteers who make this meaningful service possible.

Servers

Our Servers’ Guild is made up of dedicated individuals committed to enhancing Sunday morning worship. They rotate leading the procession and help prepare for communion. At the 10:30 a.m. service, there are three roles a server can take on:

● The Crucifer carries the cross during the processional and recessional hymns, as well during the
gospel reading in the center aisle, and receives the offering tray from the greeters.

● The Altar Server assists the priest by providing him with the necessary items for communion, like

wine, water, and wafers, and carries the Gospel book during readings.

● The Candle Bearers carry the candles during both the processional recessional hymns, as well as
   during the gospel reading.

Greeters

Our Greeters provide a warm welcome and support during church services year-round. They greet attendees at the door, hand out bulletins and prayer books, assist those in need or unwell during the service, collect offerings, and keep track of attendance. The role of a greeter is to ensure that every individual feels welcomed at the service and to offer help to both newcomers and regular churchgoers.
